Following Jesus

Hello God! I’m a big fan.

Yet, you call us not to be fans, but followers of Jesus. Can I really leave behind my nets to follow Him?

You are a God who calls people like us to obedience. If we follow Jesus, we will keep his commandments. Help us to follow your Truth, even when it’s hard.

You are a God who calls people like us to leave the place where we are comfortable for parts unknown. If we follow Jesus, will not seek to be served, but to serve. Help us to follow your Way, even when it’s lonely.

You are a God who calls people like us to ministry that may be risky, or even dangerous. Jesus invites us to take up our cross and follow. Help us to follow your Life, even when it’s costly.

Let us, your Church, never forget the center of our faith. Take our lives and let them be always, only, all for Thee, because of what you have done in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Amen.
